Founded in 1925, ATCC is the world's leading independent biological resource center, providing the products, services and knowledge that are at the heart of the bioscience revolution. Located in a 190,000 square foot research facility situated on 26 acres in historic Manassas, Virginia, ATCC is the leading private employer in the fast-growing Northern Virigina Biotechnology Corridor. ATCC has additional office and laboratory space in Gaithersburg, MD and office space in Washington, DC.
ATCC employs approximately 400 professional and support staff, 56% of whom are scientific personnel. Nearly half of those have advanced degrees in their field. ATCC's facility was built in 1998 and boasts 35,000 square feet of laboratory space and an 18,000 square foot biological repository. In addition to the scientific staff, ATCC is home to employees with expertise in marketing, customer service, finance and accounting, human resources, product distribution, information technology, quality assurance and regulatory affairs and more.
