ANSYS, Inc. seeks R&D Engineer II to work in Canonsburg, PA and various unanticipated locations.

  • Contribute to the development of software products and supporting systems.
  • Collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.
  • Perform moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.
  • Understand and employ best practices.
  • Perform moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
  • Research problems discovered by the quality assurance or product support teams and develop solutions.
  • Understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of study.
  • Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a related position.
  • Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
    • Full-stack software development with emphasis on Python, Java, or Golang backend and industry-leading front-end frameworks;
    • Experience crafting, documenting, and maintaining Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for client use in cloud hosted environments;
    • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle covering the design, implementation, unit testing, acceptance testing, and delivering of software in a commercial setting;
    • Experience with industry-leading software development IDEs, including Visual Studio, VSCode, and PyCharm;
    • Experience with technology packaging and deployment utilities for cloud, including Docker, Kubernetes, and CSP-specific utilities such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud; and
    • Knowledge of GIT source code versioning and GitHub repository management.
  • Additional information: This is a telecommute work at home opportunity from anywhere within the United States.
