Position Summary:
The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences at Campbell University is seeking a qualified individual for a Molecular Biology position as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Pharmaceutical & Clinical Sciences. The appointment will be for a 1-year term, renewable annually, and based at the University’s main campus in Buies Creek, North Carolina. Faculty responsibilities include teaching in the Bachelor of Science, Master of Science Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) programs, mentoring students, advising graduate student research projects, developing/maintaining a scholarly agenda, and serving on Department, College and University committees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaches in the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Pharmaceutical programs integrating the concepts of Molecular Biology, Upstream/Downstream Bioprocessing in a team-taught didactic environment
- Teaches in the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Clinical Research (BSCR, MSCR) programs based upon expertise and request
- Creates and implements laboratory experiments to complement didactic concepts
- Evaluates students by exams, homework, quizzes, laboratory reports
- Promotes excellence in education with evidence based, active teaching strategies
- Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Supports departmental efforts in student recruitment using science education outreach
- Upholds and abides by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to; FERPA and other state and federal mandates

Requirements
Education/Experience:
- A relevant terminal (i.e. doctorate level) degree in a related scientific or engineering discipline
- Broad based knowledge of upstream and downstream processing techniques and equipment and/or Molecular Biology research from an accredited institution is required.
- 2-5 years’ experience in an industrial setting strongly desired
- Experience in a higher education preferred.

- Familiar with ExamSoft and BlackBoard
- Familiar utilizing/administering social media platforms
- Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with University faculty, staff and students.
- Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
- Exercise independent judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.
- Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet set deadlines
- Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment
- Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours to support student activities and teaching
