Description
The laboratory of Dr. Ling-Gang Wu in the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, NIH, Bethesda, Maryland is seeking one highly motivated postdoctoral fellow. Wu lab studies membrane dynamics underlying vesicle docking, fusion, transmitter release, endocytosis and recycling in secretory neuroendocrine cells and synapses. Wu lab uses STED, PALM/STORM and MINFLUX nanoscopy at ~50–1 nm resolution to directly visualize single molecules in driving membrane dynamics, such as vesicle docking, fusion pore opening, expansion and closure, as well as endocytic flat-to-round membrane curvature transformation that forms vesicles. Combining these super-resolution imaging techniques with molecular biology, electrophysiology and electron microscopy, Wu lab aims to understand fusion and endocytosis at the level of single molecules in the nano-meter scale at a fast temporal resolution in physiological conditions and in disorders.
